Auckland Airport Train

Currently there is no connection between Auckland Airport and city center by train.

Auckland Airport to City Center by Train – 380 Airporter Bus

You can get from Auckland Airport to the City Center by this bus line which lets you connect with Papatoetoe Train Station.

Bus: First you need to pick up the bus on any of both terminals, either International or Domestic, and get off at Papatoetoe Train Station. Trip will normally take 20 minutes.

Train: Then, take either Southern, Eastern or Onehunga rail lines to get to the city center and take off at Britomart Transport Centre. Ride will take 36 minutes.

Service hours: it operates every day of the week, frequencies every 15-20 minutes. 

City Center to Auckland Airport

You can take a train from either Britomart or Onehunga station since the departure is the same and take off at Papatoetoe Station. Then you just need the ride 380 Airporter Bus until Domestic or International Terminal. 

Fares

Regarding prices, there’s a special transport card, AT HOP, which you can get in order to ride any mean of transport in Auckland for a more economic fares:

380 Airporter Bus: One-way (NZ$1.95), without AT HOP card: NZ$3.50.

You need to choose 1 zone ticket.

Train: One-way (NZ$4.90), without AT HOP card: NZ$7.50.

You need to choose 3 zone ticket.

AT HOP card fares

You can use AT HOP card to ride in trains, ferries and buses in Auckland: 

Total purchase of a AT HOP card is of NZ$10. Minimum amount charge is of NZ$5. 

You can purchase it online or in person at AT Customer Service Center, ticket office or AT HOP retailer, located in any public transport station or terminal.

By using AT HOP you can save a 25% off total ticket cost.
