AUCKLAND AIRPORT – BUS AND SHUTTLES TO CITY CENTRE

Auckland International airport counts with an efficient and extensive bus network which connects It with Auckland city centre and surroundings.

SkyBus: Auckland Airport to city centre


You can take Skybus from Auckland Airport, as is the main transfer service from Auckland City. Pick It up at International and Domestic terminals outside the building in the Transports Hub.

Opening hours: Every day. See the schedule on the following table:

From 4.45 am to 7 am – Every 15 minutes
From 7 am to 7pm – Every 10 minutes
From 7 pm to 11.45 pm – Every 15 minutes
From 11.45 pm to 4.45 am – Every 30 minutes

It has different routes according to your final destination:

- Auckland Airport to city centre via Mt Eden Road
- Auckland Airport to city centre via Dominion Road

Opening hours: Domestic terminal: From 6 am to 1.45 am. International terminal is 24h.

Both routes terminate at 396 Queen Street.

At the end of the route, if you wish, you can take a shuttle to transfer to downtown terminating at Customs Street East.

Both trips take usually about 40-60 minutes. Please take in mind that times can be up to traffic conditions.

Where can I buy the tickets?


You can purchase your tickets in the airport at the Ticket Kiosks (nearby SkyBus bus stops), from the bus driver (you can only pay by cash), SkyBus Hub/Lounge, etc.
Remember you can also buy them online.

How much they cost?


Adult one-way: $18, Adult return: $32. AT HOP card is no use.

Public transport

380 Airporter Bus

You can ride the bus until Onehunga Transport Centre or Britomart Transport Centre, since they are the main hubs for public transport of city and suitable stops to move through city centre. Buses normally start and terminate their trips between Onehunga and Manukau.

Monday to Friday:
Manukau – Airport – Onehunga: From 4.28am to 12.35am.
Onehunga – Airport– Manukau: From 4.40am, to 10.12pm (Monday to Thursday) and to 12.12am (Fridays).
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays:
Manukau – Airport– Onehunga: From 4.40am to 11.35pm.
Onehunga – Airport– Manukau: From 4.45am to 11.45pm.
From the Airport to Papatoetoe: 20-25 minutes.
From Onehunga to Airport: 30-35 minutes.

You can purchase your ticket from the bus driver and also you can use your AT HOP card.

- From Manukau to the airport: One-way ticket is $1.85 with AT HOP card. Without AT HOP card is of $3.50. Remember you have to purchase a 1-zone ticket. Travel time is 36 minutes.

- From Onehunga to the airport: One-way ticket is $1.85 with AT HOP card. Without AT HOP card is of $3.50. Remember you have to purchase a 1-zone ticket. Travel time is 32 minutes.

Route 31 – Botany Town Centre to Mangere Town Centre via Papatoetoe Train Station

You can also ride this bus once you get to Papatoetoe Station from the Airport (remember you should pick up 380 bus line to get to this point).

To get to city center just pick up the bus at Papatoetoe Station and take off at Botany Town Centre.

This bus line has also a route via Otara Interchange, Hunters Corner and Papatoetoe Train Station, it will be up to you choose whether is the best route to reach your final destination.

Remember you can use this bus line to connect to the Airport via 380 Airporter Bus back at Papatoetoe Station.

Opening hours: 7 am to 7 pm. Every 20 minutes (outside these hours is every 30 minutes). Trip is about 17 minutes (Papatoetoe Station to Botany Town Centre).
